MedFIT, MEDigIT and BioFIT Tour 2024
MedFIT, MEDigIT & BioFIT Tour - December 2nd
Discover the rich healthtech ecosystem of the Hauts-de-France region
We are happy to invite you to join us for a day of discovery of the regional ecosystem, the day before MedFIT, & MEDigIT.
This day will enable you to discover the richness of our local ecosystem, its key players, networks, initiatives and innovative companies and entrepreneurs.
At the end of the day, a cocktail will be offered at the Eurasanté Hub, a new building bringing together start-ups, companies, laboratories and plant-school specialising in health innovations.
Register now for all or part of the day’s activities.
Programme
9.30 am Departure by bus from Lille Europe train station
10.00 am Visit of the LIMMS and ONCOTHAI laboratories at ONCOLille
ONCOLille
ONCOLille, the Cancer Research Institute of Lille, was established on January 1, 2020, to foster interdisciplinary cancer research. Supported by the University of Lille, Inserm, CNRS, Lille University Hospital, and Oscar Lambret Center, along with partners like the Pasteur Institute of Lille, ONCOLille brings together over 250 researchers and clinicians. Its prime location on Lille’s hospital-university campus promotes daily collaboration between fundamental researchers and clinicians, enabling a seamless flow from basic research to clinical applications. The institute focuses on overcoming cancer therapy resistance, tumor dormancy, and relapse, with an emphasis on developing personalized treatments and innovative therapeutic strategies for hard-to-treat cancers. By integrating biology, physics, chemistry, mathematics, bioinformatics, and health technologies, ONCOLille aims to advance patient care in line with the French 2021-2030 national cancer strategy.
LIMMS : LABORATORY FOR INTEGRATED MICRO-MECHATRONIC SYSTEMS
The Limms is an International Research Laboratory (IRL) between the CNRS and the University of Tokyo. In the frame of the international programme Smmil-E (Seeding microsystems in medicine in Lille: European-Japanese technologies against cancer) supported by the CNRS, the Oscar Lambret Centre, the University of Tokyo and the University of Lille, Limms transfers and develops micro-systems BioMEMS and microfluidic technologies from the University of Tokyo at the Lille University Hospital site, for clinical research against cancer.
ONCOTHAI : THERAPIES ASSISTED BY LASERS AND IMMUNOTHERAPIES FOR ONCOLOGY
The purpose of Oncothai is to propose an innovative therapy “Photodynamic therapy (PDT)” essentially for cancers in therapeutic impasse and to evaluate the combinations of treatments associating PDT with immunotherapy protocols which target conventional “immune checkpoints (ICP)” (such as CTLA-4, PD1, PDL1) and ICPs undergoing clinical evaluation (Galectin-9, IDO, etc.)
11.00 am Visit of Lattice Medical
LATTICE MEDICAL is developing revolutionary implants that enable patients to self-reconstruct using 3D-printed resorbable biomaterials. These solutions allow tissue to grow while the implant gradually degrades, enabling natural regeneration with the patient’s own tissue. The implants are produced in a 3D printing farm in an ISO 7 clean room environment. Our flagship product, MATTISSE, is an implant proposed for alternative breast self-reconstruction for patients who have undergone partial or total mastectomy, an alternative solution to existing techniques involving foreign bodies, unsafe or heavy and numerous surgical procedures. After validating the concept and efficacy of the MATTISSE medical device on animal models, LATTICE MEDICAL is carrying out the clinical studies required to launch the product on the European market, with CE marking. We are also developing RODIN, a new tissue engineering project for hypodermal reconstruction. We also have a commercial brand, Lattice Services, offers medical-grade 3D printing filaments and services. We offer custom 3D printing, extrusion, and modelling services.
12.00 – 2.00 pm Networking lunch
2.00 – 4.00 pm Presentation of the Hauts-de-France region’s healthtech strengths and organisations:
- Eurasanté: Eurasanté is a development agency dedicated to tech transfer and business development in life sciences sector in Northern France region. Our experienced project managers help researchers, startups and companies with their development projects. To do so, Eurasante provides many services such as real estate, fundraising, recruitment and business development. It also promotes the Eurasante Bio-business Park, which already hosts 8 hospitals, 4 universities, 8 specialised schools and more than 170 companies. It benefits from an exceptional location at the heart of Europe.
- Clubster NHL: Clubster NHL – Nutrition, Health, Longevity – is a French competitiveness cluster federating 360 members in the Nutrition, biotechnology and health sectors. We foster collaboration between academia, private companies (start-up, SMEs and large companies), clinicians and final users. Our aim is to help our members to design, develop and finance their innovative products and processes. The activity encompasses the ONE HEALTH concept, close relation between human, animal and plant health.
- Japet Medical: Japet Medical is a pioneer in medical robotics and the inventor of Japet.W+, the only motorized exoskeleton that protects employees’ backs in all their movements. As a true solutions integrator, Japet Medical supports manufacturers in their fight against back strain in the workplace, from matching the exoskeleton to the workstation right through to the device deployment.
- UseConcept: UseConcept is the only French compagny specialized in usability of medical device and health products. We support you in taking human factors and user experience into account in the design and improvment phases of your products and services.
– UX/UI design and user experience support
– CE marking of a Medical Device (EN 62366-1:2015)
– Usability for FDA approval
– Marketing authorization (MA)
– Participants recruitment with HealthSquad (all-comers, patients and healthcare professionals) - iAVC: Intended for healthcare professionals, ROMAIN, a web application and smartphone app, transmits in real time the arrival time of patients needing immediate emergency care, by using geolocation technology with GPS tags provided by iAVC and positioned on the patient during transfers.
- Celeos: CELEOS is a medical device company created in 2023 and based on the hospital campus in Lille. It develops a surgical guidance tool giving molecular information to the surgeon about the patient’s tissue nature he found doubtful. Our goal is to improve the surgery outcome by participating in the total removal of tumors, enhancing the patient quality of life and lowering the surgical time. At a preclinical stage, this breakthrough is expected to reach the European market in 2028.
- Cousin Surgery: International leader in implants for visceral and spinal surgery, Cousin Surgery is a group with expertise in implantable textiles: a very rare skill, inherited from a history entirely devoted to textiles and innovation. Cousin Surgery is a firm specialized in implantable medical devices. It inherits its expertise from a long industrial history that began in 1848. Today, the company is a recognised specialist in implantable textiles and their application to spine surgery and visceral.
- Braindex: Braindex has developed an integrated brain monitoring platform to meet the challenges of subjective anesthetic administration. This cutting-edge technology enables clinicians to simply, non-invasively and instantaneously objectify the effect of anesthetics on patients’ brains, enabling drug administration to be tailored to individual patients.
